Industry Leaders Select Hara for Environmental and Energy Management

Operational Efficiency, Risk Management and Shareholder Value Drive Demand

Redwood City, CA – February 1, 2010 – Hara, a leading provider of environmental and energy management software, today announced that a rapidly growing number of organizations has selected Hara to track, manage and optimize their energy and natural resource usage and environmental impact. Dozens of organizations, including Fortune 500 corporations such as The Coca-Cola Company and News Corporation; leading companies such as Aerojet, Akamai, Brocade, and Intuit; and municipalities including the City of Palo Alto and the City of San Jose, have all signed on with Hara.

“Sustainability and the energy and emissions discussion is no longer simply about producing compliance reports and green messaging, it’s a new business paradigm.  Central to this transformation is a shift to a resource-focused, high efficiency, low emission business strategy which aligns sustainability goals with long term business growth, market recognition of social corporate capitalism and radical improvements in process and product performance,” said Dr. Stephen Stokes, vice president of Sustainability and Green Technologies at AMR Research. ”Hara’s significant customer traction, capture and visualization of energy and emissions data through its holistic focus on end-to-end organizational metabolism, and its capacity to provide a basis for in-depth analysis of sustainability data and performance make it one of a small number of leading innovative solutions for next generation sustainability management.”

Akamai, the leader in powering video, dynamic transactions and enterprise applications online, needed a scalable solution to help them track and manage energy and greenhouse gas emissions across thousands of third-party data centers that make up its network.

“After evaluating offers across the market, it became clear to us that Hara could provide the most comprehensive and versatile solution that would enable us to model the complexity of our network but could also scale with us over time,” said Nicole Peill-Moelter, director of Environmental Sustainability at Akamai. “Furthermore the flexibility of Hara’s service enables us to analyze the data in a way that is meaningful to our business not just for carbon emissions reporting.”

Brocade, an industry leader in data center networking solutions and services, selected Hara to manage and optimize the environmental impact and energy efficiency of their facilities.

“As global demand for more data and faster performance increases while data system energy costs continue to rise, Brocade is committed to driving energy efficiency in the data center – both internally and for our customers,” said Michael Hirahara, vice president of Global Real Estate and Facilities at Brocade. “Hara helps Brocade minimize energy usage and reduce greenhouse gas emissions across our operations and data centers, in particular ensuring that we have built out our new global headquarters campus as energy and carbon efficiently as possible.”

“Demand for Hara continues to grow as more and more companies and organizations are putting environmental and energy solutions at the top of their strategic agenda,” said Amit Chatterjee, CEO and founder of Hara. “Companies that understand the value of having a holistic view of their organizational metabolism today will have the greatest competitive advantage tomorrow.”
